MADRID AGAIN

This post has been delayed since the 15 of Sep. which is the day we came back from Madrid fashion week. The problem was that I wanted to add a recipe which needed some violets, but it´s been impossible to find them now in the florists and I thought this was taking too long.... until I went to visit my mom last week. My mom had violets in her terrace!!! and I didn´t know. I couldn´t believe this.

But before I post this recipe, I wanted to show you how everything went on, my A., my niece who happens to love to be part of my blog will decorate this post. She´s very pretty. So the women in our house took a tour around the capital and attended two catwalks. Of course as I said, we visited the girls too, my daughter and niece who live in Madrid. At night we had a blast gallivanting.

Madrid is so beautiful. I love this city.

And so we attended the catwalks, first Miguel Palacio. He´s a well known designer in Spain. As usual, celebrities were in tabloids the following week. More in the link below.

I liked many of the outfits in this catwalk.

I find all the outfits quite femenine.

An hour later, we were lucky to go to Angel Schlesser´s, and I visited my daughter backstage too but she was too busy.
Those immaculate white outfits. More in the link below.

With some touches of colour

And impossible heels. These girls should have a reward for this.

In Madrid, I bought violet candies that are sold in a small shop named "La Violeta", which is beautiful and situated in Canalejas square. I bought these candies, because I have a recipe in my folders  with these violet sweets that I wanted to try. So there you have the recipe. This is like a tribute to Madrid.

I also bought violet´s tea

I´m telling you, today it won´t be step by step pictures, otherwise this post would be too long.

YOGURT MOUSSE WITH VIOLET COULIS

INGREDIENTS - SERVES 6
FOR THE MOUSSE
2 natural yogurts
100ml whole cream
2 gelatine sheets
salt
2 egg whites
20gr sugar
FOR THE VIOLETS COULIS
200gr violet candies
50ml water

First we have to soak the candies in the water overnight, they will form a thick liquid, like a coulis.

Then, soak the gelatine sheets in cold water. Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt. Heat the whole cream and pour the gelatine inside. Add the yogurts little by little. Set aside to cool the mixture. Beat the egg whites until firm, or until they form stiff peaks,  and add the sugar. Fold it in the yogurt mixture gently and carefully.
Serve it in cups and pour the coulis on the mousse.

Talking about food. On our way home by car, we stopped by at a place called "Hostal Landa", near Burgos, and we had Sopas de ajo (garlic soup), and roasted lamb for lunch. To finish, a custard cream roulade. The food was gorgeous!!!.

The restaurant is awesome.

DONE!
